African Peering and Interconnection Forum “Outlining The Business Case  
for Regional Interconnection”

The theme of AfPIF-2 aims to foster robust discussions on regional and
cross-border interconnection approaches, economics for the region. The
theme builds on the success and experiences gained during the inaugural
event having realized over 80% growth in East Africa's regional
interconnection in the last 12 months.

A host of expert guest panelists include Packet Clearing House (PCH) on
their recent Peering Survey, Amsterdam Internet Exchange Point (AMS-IX)
and AfriNIC will participate at the event. They will lead panel
discussions on “Building the African Cloud is there a value
proposition?” and “Africa’s Content Peering Strategy: - How can Africa
leverage its large eyeball network to attract content peering into the
region”

Participants will also have a unique opportunity to learn from Bill
Norton also known as Dr. Peering on the Art of Peering and peering
economics by playing the Peering Game.  There will be a special takeaway
for select participants who will receive a free copy of “The Internet  
Peering
Play Book” written by Bill Norton.

Most importantly, the AfPIF event presents an opportunity for ISPs,
Operators, Infrastructure providers and CDNs to have one-on-one peering
meetings. If you have an interest in Peering in Africa or Europe, IXP
operators, CDNs and Carriers from these regions will be present.

Le thème de AfPIF-2 vise à favoriser les discussions sur les économies  
et les approches robustes d'interconnexion régionale et  
transfrontalière. Le thème s'appuie sur le succès et l'expérience  
acquise lors de l'événement inaugural ayant réalisé plus de 80% de  
croissance en interconnexion régionale en Afrique de l'Est au cours  
des 12 derniers mois.

Un grand nombre d'experts panélistes invités vont participer au Forum  
dont Packet Clearing House (PCH) qui va présenter sur son enquête  
récente d’appairage (peering). Amsterdam Internet Exchange Point (AMS- 
IX) et AfriNIC participeront également à l'événement et mèneront des  
discussions en groupe sur les thèmes "Construire le nuage africain : y  
a-t-il une proposition de valeur?" et "Stratégie d’appairage de  
contenu Africain: - Comment l’Afrique peut exploiter son réseau de  
globe oculaire (eyeball network) important pour attirer l’appairage de  
contenu dans la région".

Les participants auront également l'occasion unique d'apprendre de  
Bill Norton, également connu comme le Dr Peering, sur l'Art  
d’appairage et l'économie d’appairage en jouant le jeu de d’appairage.  
Des participants choisis recevront une copie gratuite du livre «The  
Internet Peering Playbook" écrit par Bill Norton.

Plus important encore, l'événement AfPIF présente une opportunité pour  
les FAI, opérateurs, fournisseurs d'infrastructures et CDNs d’avoir  
une discussion face-à-face sur l’appairage.

Si vous cherchez à Interconnecter/ appairer en Afrique ou en Europe,  
sachez que des opérateurs IXP, CDN et transporteurs (Carriers) de ces  
régions seront présents.

L'événement aura une interprétation simultanée anglaise et française.
