[Afpif] Call for Volunteer - AfPIF Fellowship Program Selection Committee

Dear All,

As you may have noted, we recently announced the AfPIF-2014 fellowship program. The call for applications closed on the 6th of June and we are looking to establish a committee to select and award the applicants.

In the spirit of promoting more community participation in the AfPIF planning process, we are looking for a volunteer from the African region to participate in the AfPIF-2014 selection committee. The selection committee will consist of 5 members. Out of the five committee member positions available, 3 positions will be allocated to representatives from organisations involved in IXPs and peering. The remaining 2 positions will be allocated to individuals in good standing within the Internet community (one from Africa and another from outside the region).  

1. Af-IX 
2. Euro-IX
3. ISOC
4. Individual Volunteer (From Africa)
5. Individual Volunteer (Outside of Africa)

The individual applicant for the volunteer position from Africa needs to meet the following criteria;
1. Be in good standing with the Internet community in the region
2. Be resident in Africa
3. Should provide a brief bio of about 200 words
4. Should be seconded by at least 3 other members of AfPIF community.
5. Should be available over the next 2 - 3 weeks to participate in the online selection process.
6. Should not have applied for the 2014 fellowship program

Selection Process:
The Call for volunteer is open until 16th June 23:59 UTC. 

The individual that will have received the most secondments from the AfPIF community, at close of the nomination and secondment period, will be nominated for the volunteer position from Africa to the AfPIF-2014 fellowship program selection committee. 

Please remember to post all the nominations and secondments to this afpif list. Only those who nominate and second through the list will be considered for this exercise.
